If you do get it, you can contact GE and get a free water filter plug, they don't tell you this but is in the owners manual. obviously you need to hook the water line to filtered water source which is what I did. by the way, not all the models have the chip water filter but all GE refrigerator can get free water filter plug from GE free of charge.
