Before criticizing any manufacturer of hard drives (there are only 3, after all) check out BackBlaze's hard drive reliability data. They operate hundreds of thousands of drives and they publish their stats annually.
That being said I have hundreds of hard drives fail over the years (I'm a VAR) and consider any Seagate drive to have no warranty. Their failure rate is no worse than anyone else but they simply relabel failed drives and send them out as replacements. Their warranty drives usually fail 30-90 days after putting them back in service.
