Recently started going through Apple TV on my son's subscription and I frankly can not understand paying anything for it. Unless there are multiple levels of subscription that I'm not aware of, every single movie I click on its, that wasn't specifically made for Apple, has to be purchased. To add insult it tells you that you can't buy it from Firestick app that I'm using to watch. Unless its own movies are ridiculously great, I don't see the appeal for this compared to HBOMax, , Disney+ or even Showtime for that matter.
There are exclusive shows worth watching and more coming, but the current industry model of offering some exclusive content to attract customers is not sustainable: I’m already paying for Prime and I get HBO Max free with my fiber subscription, YouTube TV for live TV, that’s enough subscriptions, I’m not signing up for Hulu, Netflix, CBS All Access, Peacock... That’s insane. And it’s not just the money, either. Having to use all the different apps and dealing with their individual restrictions is maddening.
Got rid of cable and I use Sling, Prime and Netflix. with all 3 I get what I had with cable for one third the price. Also installed a small antenna for local stuff.
