You'll kick yourself in 5 years, when USB charging has gone legacy. Also keep in mind that a piece of electronics is more likely to catch fire inside your walls than regular dumb wires that are insulated properly.
I don't think anyone's under any illusion these will stay at the apex of technology forever. They don't have USB-C so they aren't even cutting edge today. But as far as useful convenience for the next few years before you replace them? Yea, they're probably worth $7.50 per outlet.
As far as being more likely to catch fire? Well, maybe so, if we take "more likely" at its most literal. But these are UL listed and sold under Best Buy's house brand. Not raising any red flags with me but to each his/her own.
