Though a bit of a pain, you can also take a damp towel, place it on top of the floor mat, and carefully iron flat with a moderately hot iron. The steam and heat will help release the tension in the PVC. Same trick works for eliminating carpet indentations made by heavy furniture. Me knows what me is saying.
Just roll it in the opposite direction in a single loop (minimal overlap, just enough to keep it in a roll) and heat it with a hair dryer or heat gun. If the top surface is not on the outside of the roll, then roll it that way briefly before laying it down flat while still heated.

This PVC floor mat ships rolled up. Good luck getting it to flatten out in a reasonable period of time.
Save yourself the trouble and purchase one that is already flat, even if it costs more.
Thank you!
