^ You probably need to stop letting shops mess with your wheels, then they won't be over-torqued.
I gave in and got a cordless impact wrench, now only need a lug wrench in the rare event of a roadside flat, but that's pretty rare these days and I always loosen and retighten my lugs after I have new tires put on, or when rotating them myself, so I know the lugs aren't going to be difficult to get off if away from my impact wrench.
