Depends on what you want to use your device for, but many consider it to still be the best option available.

Is it just a case of FOMO that you would reject something proven to work reasonably well in favor of some newer thing that doesn't necessarily, but is cheaper? It does seem a bit expensive to me when software on a PC you already have, and a smart TV can get you most of the functionality, or a less well endowed smart box if it suits your needs, though if you want gaming features, you may need a video card for a HTPC or a gaming console that costs a chunk of money too. This is for people who want a small AIO box (besides digital media storage).
