Having bought a similar unit, the lesson I learned is to buy a vacuum from someone who specializes in vacuums. DeWalt makes great tools, but it's a very different skillset.

There's a lot of details in the design, such as having a vortex so the trash doesn't just get pulled through the filter clogging it. DeWalt tends to screw those up.

Wait what? You didn't buy the same product, but feel that you can generalize, this one must not be good enough for people who have the Dewalt investment of batteries and charger already?

I saw a youtube video that suggests that it sucks... in a good way.

Look 8 minutes in. Same problem I describe. The HEPA filter is clogged with ****.

If you're buying new filters after each use, you'll have spent more on filters than on that investment of batteries and chargers pretty dang fast.

Bagless vacuums were invented with cyclone technology, where most of the trash is caught in a cyclone, and the filter catches the last little bit. If you're not able to do that (say, on a Roomba), you'll at least have a cleanable pre-filter for the big stuff. Sucking shop **** through a HEPA filter is $$$$.

^ Vacs have been around and worked fine for 100 years without cyclone tech.

8 minutes? That's a long time to use a little vac like this, of course it may needed emptied and filter cleared after that long.
