Left Side of Brain: Stop looking at this, it's highly illogical to get Yet-Another cordless tool. Don't allow the bright colors to sway you.

Right Side of Brain: Buy it, you know you want it. Who cares if you have other brands.
Plus look at the tough red-orange "pretty" colors.

Conclusion: It's a good deal for very basic use, circular saw will cut 2x4's (2") in one slice....batteries have limited capacity, but you get two. The three basic tools most will need. Stanley Black & Decker is a YUGE company, it's not going anywhere and battery replacements are abundant.

They get you with the batteries! Same as the inkjet printer world, buy the printer cheap and pay a fortune for ink. Here it is buy the tools cheap and pay a fortune for the batteries. Those 2 low end batteries they give with it are for sale on Lowes for $83 - $10 more than this entire set....

If they would be a nice 4Ah or better set of batteries I would jump at it! Have been wanting to replace my 19.2v Craftsman stuff and since Craftsman, Dewalt, Black and Decker, Porter Cable (are there even more?) are all made by the same company it should be fine for a non-professional homeowner set.
