So that they can then be found with the body, for evidence? Purify it with fire. Steel melts at 2750 degrees Fahrenheit. Should be pretty effective, at destroying any DNA, at that temperature, too!

This is a very small maul. Aside from making kindling, its only use would be as a wedge for splitting larger logs.
