I've been hyping the Moto X4 that we have -- overall better hardware than the LG, unless you're the type of user that loves that 6" screen and the stylus. With an underpowered CPU though I'd be worried about how the LG runs under load.
I think the slightly paranoid comments about stem from a misunderstanding -- in the case of the Moto X4 anyway, there ARE NO ADS. Yes, there are several pre-loaded apps (e.g., Music) but you can either ignore them completely or disable them. The phone cannot be rooted (AFAIK) and the apps cannot be removed.
Every once in a while, there is a notification to log into our account. We don't (mainly because my SO would buy everything in sight) and I suppose that's the concern (presumably): once you log in you may be agreeing to allow to track more of what you do. I dunno -- we don't log in and it's not an issue.
FWIW we OF COURSE have put our Google accounts on the phone, so yeah, "somebody" is spying on us. Not like that is a huge secret. YGWYPF.

Proc is also 1.8GHz Octa vs 1.4 Quad
This is even better than the T-Mobile $250 in-stores deal
It still has all the cool Voice-Over-Wifi and VoLTE which are great!
I'm in for one, this "refresh" of the same version is worth considering at this price point.
Thank you!
