    Another option is for anyone working for or studying at a university (*.edu email address) can get discounts from Apple. Go to an Apple Store, show your ID, and just ask them what's the best discount you can get. Apple Store may also price match, but try your luck either way!

    this is a great discount on a newer version of one of Apple's most popular laptops. great deal for someone looking for something simple, but well built and durable. I've had my MacBook for 4 years and have had no issues.

    I think Thinkpad Carbon X1, 4th or 5th gen for bout 1/2 the $$$ ... I've watched Louis Rossman comment and repair Apples on Youtube, and Rick Beatos review on what is going wrong in Apple-land - to be buying in to them at this time. Worth reviewing before diving in.

    If Apple had this thing available in 15" for not more than $1300 I'd be running to the store. Their least expensive current 15" laptop is at least $2400.
