Be aware. You're signing up for $40 for the first year, then will be charged $59.99 the year after. Not sure if you can cancel the subscription before you're charged full price.

manzy - you don't know what you're talking about.. you can continue to buy discounted subscriptions forever.. I've been doing it for over a decade. on top of that you don't even have to auto-renew - you can just turn it off completely.

Which is why I said, "Not sure if you can cancel the subscription before you're charged full price."The details for the purchase states you'll be charged full price when it renews, so I was trying to be a nice guy to let people know just in case.

Mine was expiring on July 7th and they automatically offered this to me as a renewal price.

Good enough price...usually I would go to cdkeys.com and pay around $35 for a 12mo

I haven't seen $35 in a while, unfortunately :-(

Last year just before my subscription expired, MS/XBL had this as the offer on my console... If you're really motivated, you can try getting discounted Xbox live money (e.g $100 card for $90 on
eBay
,
Newegg
, or
Amazon
), adding it to your account, then use that to pay for the subscription. As others have mentioned, it will set you to auto-renew, but you can cancel that on the website immediately.

I block everyone in privacy settings who isn't my friend on Xbox live so I don't have to worry about random.

So just to verify, this is a subscription that starts now? With this offer, I would not be able to buy it and hold onto the codes and activate it at a later date? (Reason that I am asking is that I already have 2 more 3 month XBOX live subscription cards that I bought last BF and wanted to give this as a gift for Xmas but it does not appear that I can do that, it appears it will just add the existing 12 months on to my current 3 month subscription that I have now). can anyone shed some light on this. Thanks.

Snowman123, you can add the year and all of the 3 months together. From 2007 to last year I bought ten twelve month subs and was able to use them at one time. Great for me because back then the sub was only $50 a year. Added a couple one month and three months here and there and I won't have to renew until next August.

Snowman123, I can confirm I had a similar experience as iwearjorts; purchasing additional months extends the subscription - assuming it's on the same account (Xbox Live support should also confirm the same).
