Never owned a Sceptre TV, but if it's anything like TCL brand, then this is a steal. If I didn't already own 2 TV's at this size, I'd probably be $400 poorer right now.

Years ago my mom got a Sceptre close-out at Sam's that impressed me. Still looks good.
I got a sceptre tv about 2 years ago. On mine, the audio is horrible, I had to get an external speaker. The remote is also extremely frustrating. It doesn't light up and it doesn't remember favorite stations if you unplug the tv, plus buttons randomly don't work. The TV, itself, is okay for a budget however. Nothing spectacular, but for most it's more than adequate.
Don't do it. My Sceptre experience has been a nightmare. Died after 6 months. They insisted I pay to ship it back to them even though it was under warranty. And also insisted on Fed Ex shipping. $80 dollars and a month later I get a "refurb" TV back from them with huge gouges in the screen. This time THEY pay for me to return it, and send ANOTHER refurb TV with a scratched screen. I took my lumps and kept it. It is now 8 months later and the TV is totally dead. And of course, out of warranty because ONLY my original warranty applied to the refurb TV. Lesson learned. Don't give these criminals a dime. Spend a bit more for a name brand with better warranty support.
