No no no.... It's plastic covered with a chrome-like material that will wear off. If youre smart enuff to need a mechanic pencil, then your smart enuff to know you don't need this one.
It says "Full metal body provides ideal balance of weight, with non-slip metal knurled grip." ... but if its aluminum I can see how it feels cheap. I always thought this brand was high end. Never had one thouogh.

i have a rotring 600 and they really are nicer to use. nice solid feel, comfortable heft, the black version reminds me of darth vader. there's a big contrast everytime i have to switch back to a crappy disposable bic. if you're not the type to lose your pencils i'd recommend the small one-time investment in a good quality one.
