Been wearing Nike Air for about 10 years. No explosions. I did blow out a few Nike Air heel units (eg. slow leaks not hollywood explosions). Took the shoes to a Nike store and they gave me store credit for the current price of the shoe.
The price for this shoe is not too bad. Even the cheapest Nike Air with Max Air units are in the $40 range. The folks with weak ankles or those tend to twist their ankles should be aware that the heel is really high. It might be a bit unstable. People with weak ankles might want to stay with regular Nike Air or Zoom Air.

Stay away from Nike. Their shoes explode and damage your knees.
