Yes... But I suppose for gramma and gramps who only wanna check for emails with pictures of their adorable grandkids, this is ok. Now if mamaw is a power user, don't get her this. Give it to your 6 yr old instead.
I'd worry more about a 1.2 GHz processor than a 720p screen. My 9+ year old near bottom of the line laptop is a 2.13 GHz dual core. Talk about going backwards. 720p is fine for 15". Don't listen to the laptop snobs that tell people it's not every time one comes up. Not long ago they were making 65" 720p TVs.
The 1.2 GHz processor is nothing to worry about especially seeing how it can go up to 3.4GHz in turbo mode. I'm running Far Cry 5 on this system after adding a 16gb RAM stick for a total of 20gb. On average settings with dynamic tessellation, it runs acceptably. Comparing processors because of GHz is like comparing car engines on displacement. If a 2020 Ford Mustang with 2.3 liter turbo and 310 horsepower races a 1994 Ford Mustang with 5.0 liters and 215 horsepower, ceteris paribus, the 2020 will win due to more horsepower and it doesn't matter that the engine is smaller.
