Speaker quality is very good. I wanted great so I drilled to holes in the wood under the grill and installed two tweeters. Now it sounds unbelievable. I credit Ion for making the speaker very easy to repair or upgrade.

I dont know the ins and out like the first person ;), but they used it at my daughters elementary school. it worked great in the gym, albeit a small gym. sound quality was ok not amazing. it was pretty powerful. it was plugged in so wouldn't know how long it lasts using batteries. but it's a good value for that price.
