I love this Ego brand. I feel like I have the Tesla of lawn equipment but it is a system... no point in mixing different battery packs. If you get the string trimmer, get the blower and leaf trimmer. My battery failed within a year and they honored their warranty. Love this brand. I recommend it.
I second what pseudosea says. Great trimmer but a little heavy. My battery also failed out of the box but one call to CS and a new one was shipped out hassle free.
You do realize, tesla has worse quality than the top 4+ automobile manufacturers of vehicles at same size and lower cost? Tesla, is telling me avoid. Do not equate to tesla.
At the same time, for $150, you couldn't get a good string trimmer with a commercial grade 2 stroke engine, but all in, adding the cost of another battery, it could be less expensive to get a commercial grade 2 cycle if you need to use it more than 15 minutes continuous runtime.
Depends on the size and scope of trimming needed. If you can get the job done within the runtime of a single battery charge it is worthwhile. If not, not so much unless you already own or are planning to invest in multiple Ego tools using same battery so swapping batteries is not an extra expense or is a task you're already accustomed to and factoring for.
