Nah dood,
Amazon
is teh frequent failure here -- this monitor is DA 5HIT!

If you read carefully,
Amazon
lists this monitor as Maximum Screen Resolution: 640 x 480 -- clearly 100% bogus (fail #1). Then if you read the comments carefully, you'll see Q&A and reviews are for some entirely different Dell models than E2318HR being sold today (fail #2).

Click the link for "See all 482 customer reviews," then change the "Filter by" for "All formats" to "Show only reviews for Style: 23 | IPS + VESA Mount." Then you'll finally see about 17 reviews for this actual monitor.

ALL are currently 4 to 5 stars, with ZERO reports of failures. Granted, the oldest review is from July 28, 2018, so the jury may still be out on whether this monitor will last.

Given the LED backlight, I'm hoping that the power supply will last a long time. They'd have to REALLY f--up making a power supply when it only has to support so little current (20W)...

Even if the power supply fails, you can likely fix that. My old 24" Soyo Topaz S from like 2005 used CFL backlighting, consumed 3 or 4 times more power (>65W), and made a lot of heat. Without any cooling fans, its internal power supply eventually failed -- yet I can still use that monitor! I just ripped out the old power supply board, wired in an old ATX power supply I had laying around for +5VDC and +12VDC rails, then bought a cheap $5 DC/DC step up converter board off
eBay
to generate the +24VDC rail. It's ghetto AF and might burn my house down, but eh, didn't cost me anything except $5 + time tinkering.

E2318HR with LED backlight might be even easier to fix. I'm hoping it won't have a +24VDC rail internally -- no CFL backlight, no need for +24VDC in theory.

Only negatives on this monitor: 6ms response time and HDMI (+VGA) input only -- no output jack for my Raspberry Pi's audio over HDMI. The bezel may be a little thick, but big deal, still better than my old Soyo.
