TOTALLY a thing! I got a free kindle book on how to live frugally.... The author recommended using cloth to wipe for number 1 jobs. Having enough washcloths for the entire family for 3-4 days and doing a separate (HANDWASHED!?!) load twice a week. Some people are literally certifiable. I'd fast for one day a week just to be able to afford toilet paper if I got that poor!
You know, I noticed this and just had to look twice. I mean........so after you wipe your a** how exactly does this work? Washing machine? Do you wash these sheets with whites or colors? Maybe rinse outside and hang it on the fence to dry? Where do you store the used sheets while you are still on the commode? Bathroom sink? What next? A handheld Hold and Shake Three Times for the guys to avoid handwashing?
Last year at the start of the shortage, I purchased two rolls of reusable bamboo paper towels to use just in case. Indeed, you could get up to 50 uses out of each sheet. Wash in mild detergent, warm water and dry in medium heat is more than enough to kill germs, microbes, etc.
