You get one manufacturer profile for free for the 1st year, then $20/yr for each manufacturer profile (or maybe a bulk discount? IDK).
Makes me wonder if it will pull the basic OBD2 code set from everything and the subscription is just for the manufacturer specific codes, or if it remembers the manufacturer subscription, IDs the make, and locks out OBD2 for all but that manufacturer... and then, even if their app were to lock you out, would it work with apps like Torque?
One Q&A suggests that it will continue to work as a basic OBD2 reader on everything after the first year subscription has expired.
Many questions around it, though could still be the lower cost solution to pulling codes or resetting things on certain vehicles if the other option is pay a shop to do it, or pay more for a full scanner with screen instead of headless so you save $$ using your phone or tablet as the head.
