As noted below...these cheap diode lasers advertise the power of the machine, not the laser. You are not getting a 40W laser for $130. Its a 5watt laser. The gantry system just has a 40w power supply.
PLEASE ALWAYS wear proper eye protection, get a good pair of glasses for this specific wavelength (445 nm). Don't put your trust in the goggles or the shield they provide you. Scattered beams are no joke as well, this is not a toy. Happy lasing.
This is a 5 to 5.5-watt optical output laser, but it has a relatively large minimum focus spot size, meaning less energy density, energy per area, to engrave and cut, lasers are all about energy density. Plus, less details from having a larger engraving spot. The 0.16*0.19mm spot is more than twice the size of the 5.5w laser on the $100 Aufero LU2-4SF laser (0.08*0.16mm) from a month ago (which I bought and am happy with, it's pretty amazing).
Having put down the focus spot on this laser, this price is as cheap as a gantry-based 5-watt output laser system has ever been.

Thank you!
