I like the Android OS a little better but only buy Apple phones now because Apple's support is so much better than Android . Gave my Iphone 5s, release date September 2013, to a family member and it's still getting updates, lol. Apples prices may be a little higher compared to flagship phones of other manufactures but their updates and support make up for the cost IMHO.
A little higher? My OnePlus 6T costs about half of XS. As for the iPhone 5S, sure it's still getting updates, but at this point it is not even as good as a budget phone, assuming Apple didn't screw you over on throttling for battery life.
How does a $1000 undiscounted phone get classified as "sizzling" and show up as the hottest deal? Is this now Bens best-sponsored, sometimes bargains but maybe not. You can get a great android phone with a great laptop for the same price - that's a bargain.
@PHDHEF.......Yes the 5S is dated now but the value of that phone has proven the test of time and I suspect current iPhones will also. Since September 2013 my wife has had a HTC ONE M7, Nexus 6 and Galaxy S8. The M7 and Nexus 6 both had to be replaced because support ended. So three flagship Android phones were forced to be purchased while the 5S iOS 12 software and security updates continue, although it looks like the 5S won't be eligible for iOS 13 (not enough RAM). Your point on the cost of the 6T is not valid, apples to oranges. I'm only comparing flagship phones and the OnePlus 7 starts at $700. I grant you this is a good value ONLY if you can expect to get at least 5 years of software support for it, which I highly doubt knowing Androids history. On top of superior software lifespan the apps always seem to be less buggy and better developed on the iOS ecosystem. Tying into our home security system and pairing with various devices always has been less buggy with IOS. Apple's camera's are always top notch as well. Although I may sound like an Apple fan boy, I'm not. I love the Google ecosystem which I use on my iPhone and PC and would love to switch to back to an Android phone if they offered Apple like support.
My 2 cents. This is nothing but an ad. The phone doesn't come out until the 20th and it's not truly discounted. iPhone 11 is MAYBE equivalent to the Galaxy S8 which can be bought for less than $225 in refurbished form from
People talk about Apple support and how great it is. Apple products should need ZERO support because they are generally 2 years behind the cutting edge of the "new" technology they finally embrace. You would hope that Apple could work out the bugs after having 24 months to work the kinks out before they finally release their outdated hardware. (deleting the headphone jack does not count as an innovation. It makes it easier to make the phone water resistant.)
my two cents. I dont need to offer support to anyone using iphones (most of my family). Those that switched to android always bug me about their phone. My V20 just started boot looping. But before that, barely any updates. Don't forget, Google might come out with the updates, but it is up to Samsung/LG/whoever to release the updates. With the iPhone, there is no middle man. As for headphone jack? Who has a headphone jack anymore? Not Note10. Not Oneplus. What about what made the V20 so great? Replaceable battery? Not any other flagship phones. I am tempted to get another V20 and take a chance on it not boot looping. BTW, my Honor 8 have not had an update in two years. My old iPhone 6 had a few. Do the math. As for Apple throttling the cpu speed because of the battery, I think they screwed up. They should have made it an option. But really, everyone knows battery life is finite. I rather settle for a slower phone than a have a phone that dies because the battery is pretty much end of life.

So Facetime/iMessaging system, is what keeps me on iOS.
Yup, I hated Apple for killing all my devices with their iOS updates. Knew they should have had some Congressional inquiry - instead they get away scot free cause they blamed “battery issues.” Never mind that they made a fortune from people tossing out their old phones and upgrading. As soon as they got caught and forced to stop throttling, their phone sales dropped. Coincidence?
I bought my wife the new Android Pixel 3a (switching from iphone 7 and she hates it. Everything is clunky and a lot of simple things are so much more difficult. Unfortunately, I have to switch her back to Apple because like someone else said, videos sent via text look like absolute garbage when sent between Apple and Android.
Excited to see all the new features in iphone 11, that Android had 2 years ago.lol
Apple got rid of of the headphone jack about 3 years ago. Now android phones are rushing to do the same? Looks like Apple was ahead of its time on that one. What about having user replaceable batteries? Want to count the number of years on that "feature" for android phones to catch up on? What about sending crappy video in the built in messaging app? Is that a feature Apple is behind on as well?
Bottom line is most folks don't want features. They want ease of use and stability. No one bugs me about "how do I .." when they using iphones. But I do get those questions from android users. Most of them just don't want to spend a ton of money on a smartphone so their first smartphone tend to be an android.
