If you plan to use this as a photo frame, it works well for that. Otherwise I found it to be a bit overwrought for a clock, but it can display your camera feed if you have Nest cams. Ultimately I went with the Lenovo Essential clock for the bedroom, much more stripped down and clearer display, plus an integrated nightlight.
This is a great deal. I have one in my office and use it all the time to watch videos and listen to music while I work. It has great sound and can even control the Roku TV in my office using voice commands through Google Assistant.
I got the Lenovo Smart Clock for my wife. We use it all the time to set multiple alarms, cancel them when we wake up before the alarm goes off and to turn on, off or dim the smart bulbs in our bedroom without having to get out of bed. It was definitely a good purchase.
I'm already on the record here for noting the first gen is the one to buy: it has a touch-screen and a full-featured LCD, compared to no touch and clock ONLY on gen 2. Either way, $35 for gen 1 is a good price, and the sale price of $25 we're seeing on gen 2 is acceptable.
My only minor gripe/regret is that Lenovo hasn't ported the "cl***ic" clock faces from the gen 2 back to gen 1. I hope they do.
Ah yeah, a few of you mentioned the night light on the gen 2. That isn't something we're clamoring for (I'm kinda picky about lights when I'm sleeping) but I can see when you've got ghosts or random people watching you sleep why an ambient light might be desirable. 🤷🏼♂️
