When both sets are on sale, the price is nearly the same and so are the features on paper and controls. I have multiple sets of each and hands down Tacklifes are better. Both can be programmed to be compatible with any existing FRS/GMRS sets, even with repeaters, but you may need a license for some uses. The receiver is much better on Tacklife -- sensitive and doesn't pick up random noise. Baofeng tends to turn on the receiver randomly (squelch) when nothing is being transmitted and that setting doesn't seem to be affected by the value set in software. The speaker sound/amp is super clear on Tacklife -- not FM radio bandwidth, but close to the point of being impressive if you hear them for the first time, not your old walkie talkies. I had several friends order Tacklife after playing with mine. Tacklife are also sturdier with thicker plastic and the chargers are USB vs 110V on Baofengs. Baofengs are pretty bad at charging Li batteries as they don't have a dedicated chip to correctly charge/stop charging.
