The benefits claimed come from thickening your oil, plus a seal sweller additive.

If you have thousands of miles left till next scheduled oil change, it makes sense IF thicker oil would help, otherwise just use a higher viscosity grade on your next oil change.

The high mileage seal sweller additives should be avoided if you don't have oil loss from leaky seals. If you do, use high mileage oil next time.
