Yes, it’s for the ad supported plan. You’re paying to get to watch the shows, not paying for the ads. The ads are just a byproduct because the lower subscription payment isn’t enough to cover all the shows. If you like the peacock shows it’s a good deal. If not, there are better ways to spend your time.
Heads up to any Xfinity customers, you likely get Peacock premium for free. I only have internet through Xfinity and I qualified. Comcast sends you a streaming box (you don't have to use it, I stored mine away and use a Roku). You can check here: https://www.peacocktv.com/xfinity
Peacock has some good classic tv shows on it but I have Xfinity so I get it for free. For me it's INCREDIBLY slow and heavily delayed and there are very little good movies on it so if I had to pay for it I would NOT recommend the service. At least not yet
