Amazon is offering a $100 gift card when you're approved for their Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature Card. They will also be offering up to 25% back on best sellers for Prime Day (10/13 to 10/14) and 10% back on select Gift Guide favorites, including Gift Cards for Amazon and other retailers.

The card is only available for Prime members and offers 5% back at Amazon.com and Whole Foods Market, 2% back at restaurants, gas stations and drugstores, and 1% back everywhere else, with no annual fee.

I have one of these and I can't figure out what happens if I cancel Prime; do I lose the whole card or just the rewards?

It's a very clever way of keeping someone in Prime. I do love the rewards though.

You keep the card and rewards go down to 3% for
Amazon
purchases.

Last month, Chase sent me a promo, activating 4% rewards on purchases that normally only earn 1% or 2% along with keeping
Amazon
purchases at 5% good until January 2021. Switched everything I could to pay with this card and earned $108 last month.

If you're a prime member, then getting this card is already a no-brainer. The $100 gift card is just gravy.

There is a lot of small print in the agreement. I think you still get to use the card but the rewards will be less.

I have this card too... It's used ONLY for purchases on
Amazon.
5% cash back on all Amazon purchases is a sweet deal. I use my Citi Double cash back rewards mastercard card for everything else... I got over $2000 of rewards in 2019 with both cards combined, and that's spending only on things we would have bought anyway.... Nothing frivolous (OK maybe a few unnecessary things Ben forced me to buy...) but $2k cash back! Thats the real BARGAIN. Covid has dramatically reduced our spending this yr.

I never bothered with the Visa version but i have the
Amazon
store card version (had it for eons it seems). Wonder if getting the Visa one will give me the rewards or not....
Edit - not rewards I mean the $100 gift card - I am brain dead today

One reason why I’m switching from the Synchrony Bank prime 5% back store card to this Chase Bank 5% back card: Synchrony Bank doesn’t allow you to download data older than 90 days.
