Disagree. Off-lease 4 series i5 laptops are a good value either with the DFS near-50% coupon or from a trusted seller. I grab e7440 units and throw a Sumsung Evo in them for clients regularly. They are more than capable of serving the needs of a normal user. Just make sure you get a powered USB hub of you need to connect external drives without their own power adapter, for whatever reason the e7440s don't seem to like powering external HDs properly.
