Reviews seem legit(imately bad)...I'd not expect a great deal of performance at this price, but the processor is barely faster than my 9-year old mid-range desktop processor. For comparison, I was using a $600 laptop today with the a newer amd A12 processor and it is about three times as fast as my old desktop processor...and that probably pales in comparison to a modern Intel i5 or certainly a new AMD Ryzen Mobile chip.

One review claimed they received a sub Full-HD screen and that the viewing angles and lighting distribution were terrible.

The SSD could help the performance, as the 8GB memory isn't terrible, but I really think this laptop is best for a very light user who may not treat their respectfully, so it surviving over two years would be unlikely anyway.

Oh, with any new (cheap) laptop, remove all bloatware first of all (including "bundled" antivirus and basically any program you don't recognize) and your experience will be much better. Unpin all the garbage from the start-menu, too...they start off with so much stuff it is overwhelming! Maybe the built-in "reset my pc" option in Windows 10 will help get rid of some optional stuff, but I'm not sure if OEMs convince MS to avoid that or not.

For $275, despite the cons, I'm considering this...remember appropriate expectations!
