I bought this can many years ago from Costco. Over the years I've had to do repair hack jobs about five times, the contacts in the battery holder get rusty and either need to be cleaned or soldered together. Besides that the thing still works about 10 years later which is very surprising. Hopefully the new models have addressed this problem by making the battery compartments moisture proof...
Does eat up batteries but I really just need to solder in a power plug did it. When batteries are a bit low it’s sluggish to open or you gotta wave over the top more than once. Best to just plug in the lid really
Finally got one thanks to bens and rakuten promo. Seems lowest price so far. Had a few rakuten points so made use finally. Deals are few and far between with them but Somehow Rakuten is the japanese ??? Not sure how but they are #3 next to ali babba and .
I bought this same model about a year ago. After a few months it stopped closing. The lid would open just fine, but it stays up. Other than that it's fine.
I had a Nine Stars brand like this and it was perfect. Slightly bigger too.
Ninestars seems to start around $54 and up. Does it ever go lower? It looks like the same exact mold just different company name? These take D batteries but you can get aa nimh to D converters to use rechargeable batteries with.
