You can get a 40" TV a lot cheaper. A TV might have more lag, unless it has a "game mode". It also might only offer HDMI. If all you need is a second screen for work, then it will be fine. I picked up a 40" TV in a garage sale for $150. They can be found even cheaper now. It works great when I need to edit a document, and at at the same time refer to another screen. Also good when engaged in a web conference, where I need to see another participant's shared screen, but also be able to quickly access my own as well. I haven't tried it for gaming. It's not my thing.
