This is not 5000 lumens. It's likely not even 500 lumens. Whoever at BB who selects flashlights to list needs to get familiar and improve their BS filter so we stop getting spammed with **** flashlights with made-up specs.
^ Blame , I've told them countless times about the lumen frauds among others.
HOWEVER, in this one rare case, this light is probably not too far from its 5000lm rating. It uses 9 x XM-L LEDs and is powered by 4 x 18650 cells. Usually a single XM-L LED and 18650 cell based generic light is good for around 600 lumens, or up around 1000lm from a major brand.
Multiply that by 9... the limitation is going to be heatsinking, it could easily produce 5000lm except it might get too hot to hold running at that for more than a minute or two.
AFAIK this is like the other similar designs that run all 4, 18650 cells in parallel so if you wanted to, especially on the low setting, you could use only 1 to 3 cells.
Another way to look at it is that this is probably the most light you can get, including the cost of batteries, for $26, with backing and shipping it instead of a month from China then no customer service. However the batteries are junk, in the long run you might want to replace them with something better.
