I bought these one of the previous times they were on sale, and set them up as under-cabinet lighting in my kitchen. Yes, as reviews say the adhesive is generally useless, so be prepared to secure them with superglue or your own two sided tape. Beyond that they work great.
If you're going to be splitting up the length into smaller pieces for your application, you'll need a soldering iron and some wire to wire them all together, or wire them to power.
