i bit. last time the price increased before i got a chance to buy. i worry about how flimsy the hose might be, but for $10, i took the plunge.

and perhaps my favorite expanding hose will be orange. i really wonder about your life choices.

Over the decades we have owned perhaps five different "expanding hoses" - and never had one last as much as a year.

I have several of the Zero-G hoses sold by Lowe's. Technically, they are not an expanding hose, but very light weight. One failed after two years because I repeatedly (accidentally) stepped on it and it finally got punctured by a piece of bark. I immediately replaced it with the same model.

The problem with these things, is that they're nothing more than surgical rubber hose, with a cheap cover on it. Pressurize it, and it expands. Take the pressure off, it returns to its natural size. And just like a rubber band, it has a finite number of expansion/retraction cycles. Anyone who expects them to never leak, is only fooling themselves!
