That is a good thing. Stick with the concept "money to burn".

This looks interesting, but I feel like you need something else to go along with it. What card do you need to place in it to start mining?

If you're serious about it you'll run 6 cards in one box, right? Here's someone's idea of what to run,

In addition to the hardware, the energy usage is crazy.

I'll pass on this deal. It's free only if you get your rebate back.

While this is a good deal, it has been proven mining for bitcoin does not even pay the electrical bill for running your computer. Not to mention that bitcoin is splitting soon

The question is the amount of power you have to pay for to mine a Bitcoin. In some countries it may be worth while since some folks get gov't power subsidies.

In summer this is true, but in winter a mining box makes a fair space heater, and if you slap a small filtration level furnace filter section behind the case front bezel and route all intake air through it, a fair room air cleaner.

The other potential for this is to add another video card when you don't have another full length slot, not so much for gaming performance as multi-monitor support, though this is becoming less important now that cards have more outputs and larger, higher res. monitors are cheaper so you get more usable real estate from fewer of them.

One other use is any other card with more than 1X slot needed like a RAID card where you just want more drives, not necessarily utmost performance.

Be careful of this and all other mail-in rebate schemes. Adhere to the details and keep records.

Bitcoins are part of Travolta's Earth Invasion protocols.
