Wow, Adorama, you would've had me if you'd have provided this price back around Black Friday. Instead, I ended up buying Costco's FP-25 package (same exact piano, sans Bluetooth interface). Way to miss the boat on holiday shopping Adorama!
This is a FANTASTIC sounding piano. All the keys sound great, no noticeable fake sounding notes or weak spots like on Yamaha digital pianos. No tuning maintenance like on real pianos. Just clean, beautiful piano sound all the time.
The fully weighted keys feel and act just like real piano keys. Excellent polyphony, perfect velocity sensitivity, big tall keys that make it easier to avoid hitting incorrect notes, everything is just the way it should be. I love this piano.
Plan on buying the stand and three pedal add-ons to make this piano work at it's best. The stand seems to resonate the sound a bit to make it sound better than when you just have the piano by itself sitting on a table. The three pedal unit enables you to have more finely graduated sustain control and damping capability. Get the Synthesia app installed on any OTG USB capable tablet and you can learn how to play piano with ease.
The only thing I wish this piano had was better portability. It weighs a bit too much to be lugged around much and the thing is deceptively thicker than it looks in pictures. If Roland ever makes a slimmer, lighter, and hopefully cheaper version of this great piano, I'll be very tempted. I previously used a Korg microKey 61 that was GREAT for portability, but lacked the full range of keys and lacked any sound engine at all, making it impossible to use without lugging around a power hungry laptop.
Before buying our current (expensive) digital piano, we tried a ton of these. The Roland line was less than impressive, both in key action and the sound.
Sound is subjective, everyone should do their own due diligence before dropping this much cash. I watched a lot of YouTube videos prior to buying mine. Time and time again I was impressed with Roland's sound. Mark Fowler, Pianolicious, Bonner's were some channels I watched where Roland was used. I also liked Andrew Wrangle Music (Casio) and Kyle Landry (Yamaha) channels for comparison.
Of course, YouTube can't prove out key action for you. I took a big gamble on my FP-25 purchase in this regard -- there were no stores around to try it out. Thankfully, it turned out fine for me. Better than my parents' Yamaha digital piano. I'm very happy with it.
