This is the 3rd time in about the same amount of months that they have had this deal. Everything looks great tell you checkout. The last offers worked great. Pick movie from the list, all movies marked .99. But this time at checkout the full price is shown. Reading the message on the page, this line caught my eye :Open to participants based on purchase history. Now what do you guys think that means? I would think the Play store would alert me if I wasn't eligible for the offer. Would really like to hear from someone that has rented from this deal before I try. Follow Up: Went ahead and rented the movie IT and I was charged full price.
see my post above for more details. OK so I had to call Google support to get this figured out. One I did get a refund, it took support a long time to figure this one out. Tums out the link above is for selected users only. Go to Play without using the link. You'll see that there is no deal at this time. I think this is a mistake by Google, but try as I may I couldn't get them yo rent me a movie for .99. So check before you rent. The 2 other time this deal has been on this site the link worked great, so not sure what the deal is.
Got it to work on desktop versus mobile. Had to click out of the landing page using the movies tab as someone else described then clicked back in via a banner on the movies sub page. Then prompted with an overlay for the 99 cent deal which I accepted then the movie I wanted was as described! In FTW!
You needed to have received an email with a reward notice in order to get the .99 promotion even though the page offers .99 movies. My account didn't receive the notice so I don't qualify for the promotion.
