Nothing wrong with Kobalt cordless tools, is just more of a homeowner rather than contractor grade, and not nearly as many tools in their lineup as Ryobi.
I found that Kobalt is usually outrageously expensive at regular price...So this is great deal IMO compared to competitors in the same category..In other words for the basic user, or for personal use at home, hobbyist, simple diy ... or perhaps as a back up ? (no, it is no Mak.. or Mil..and not for the 'This Old House" type user....)
Comparing it to the HD Ryobi drill with circular saw for $79, you get both that are brushed motors, 5 1/4" saw, no light or usb adapter..(yes, you get two batteries)
with kobalt you get both that are brushless motors, AND the saw is 71/4" saw! Plus a light and USB power adapter..ALSO.. the small 1.5 amp batteries are just $10..!! (yes, the power user might not like these... but....)
Just commenting again because of the folks saying these are "cheap" tools. I have had the drill and impact driver for almost a year now and these things are SOLID. They are built like a tank and have a ton of power. e.g. the 3/8 impact driver actually has as much power as my 1/2 in Husky impact air wrench and I used it as an impact wrench working on my truck. I just bought this deal to have the circular saw and will resell the other pieces and probably come out with a free saw. Also, their normal capacity batteries are only $10 wich is crazy good compared to other brands. Someone mentioned Ryobi: these are way above Ryobi quality. Just sayin'. Don't knock em til you tried em. Only downside is they are heavy--because they are build like a tank.
