If you don't need 9.2 or "pre outs" then this is the one to get. For $20 from denon direct you get the "audyssey multieq" ap for tweaking and tuning amp for time alignment(very important) (this feature was in last years 6300 $2000 model) You need the 3400 7.2 to get Multi eq XT32(new this year) but cant get 4 height surrounds or better yet get the 4400 9.2 when on sale soon for true 5.2.4 and 11.2 preouts and auro 3d ($200 value add on for high end denons and older models) The auro 3d is suppose to make surround music listening way better than atmos or DTS:X according to audiophiles. Plus you configure speaker setup for for Auro 3d and you do not need to resetup for for Atmos or DTS:X. Auro 3D way more flexible, just not "trending" due to limited content made. Note: You can't do Atmos or DTS:X speaker config and get proper Auro 3D though. Side note: Went to new Marvel avengers in special "Dolby cinema" with full blown Atmos. I wasn't terribly impressed with Atmos sadly despite the lighted mega wall of speakers. See youtube of dolby cinema experience reviews. Of course the Marvel movie might not have been mixed very well with Atmos in mind. Going to see a couple of other movies to get final conclusion.
