Remember, there might be vehicle-specific parts that may be required for installation that are not included in the standard installation cost. Check with your local Best Buy installation department for specifics before purchasing.

Plus, it's not uncommon for these aftermarket remote start kits to create issues, such as battery drain. It's a dicey proposition, at best. IOW, you 'really' have to want remote start. Personally, if it's not an OEM system (preferably one installed at the factory), I steer clear.

There are some considerations but the largest to me would be that the manual, and installer for vehicle specific wiring, provides very clear instructions on what wiring was altered and how to remove it, for whatever reason you might want to later.

I can see the extra remote features being handy like door unlock but that also means altering more wiring and a larger remote. Unless I missed it the manual is not linked and there is no detail about whether the remote can do things like panic alert or flashing lights - handy to find the vehicle in a crowded parking lot, so you may still want your original remote too.

Usually if you have microchipped keys it will require sacrificing one of them to be in the vehicle or at least the chip from one to get it to start, though at the same time this can mean you might be able to get cheaper chipless keys made instead of having to pay for one with a new chip and then have it programmed into the vehicle security system.

Any "dumb" old style key will work because the vehicle sees the one chip that already had to stay in the vehicle. If your vehicle has per-key modes like child restrictions or seat memory, those may no longer have more than one setting tied to which key chip was left in the system to operate it.
