The primary input on these is USB. So they are built for computer use. There is an analog input on the volume puck. I preferred the Companion 3 before they discontinued it. It had two analog inputs and I could choose to put my own DAC in front of it to do the conversion from a digital source like a computer.
$300 is a good price for these and they sound excellent. But the Companion 3's were just as good and were $50 cheaper than these at full price. Go find a set of those on
