Before you buy, check the Rachio 2nd generation, has better reviews and my friend happy with one of these.

Have the same feature of sensor/satellite based watering on current system and I just turn it off.

Great for the obsessive dad we all are. I have full control of my thermostat, doorbell, cameras at home and lights from my phone, sprinklers are next.

Odd that a sprinkler controller has to be mounted inside, when most houses are wired for it inside...
