I doubt these are really refurb, Apple hasn't sold enough to have any significant refurbished stock, and those sold have only been sold to true believers, who wouldn't have returned them in these numbers. Apple wants to sell more of these but are too proud to discount, so they sell these as "refurbished" and sell them in a brown box.
For the haters, by all accounts this is an EXCELLENT omnidirectional speaker with very good room detection technology, and doubly amazing in stereo. The only **** part about them is that they're locked to Apple, so you can't use any other unlimited music provider besides iTunes. Personally I'm a Prime Unlimited user, but Google Play fans would find this useless as well. I do hope some Chinese company reverse-engineers the technology soon though, to use as a standalone speaker I can plug my Echo Dots IN to.
I got one of these. It was a return and the cable was smashed into the sides. ( permanent damage) I’ll be returning as it’s *not* manufacture refurbished as posted.
