$0 $150

Ends 7/31. At Starbucks, all Starbucks Rewards members can earn automatic Gold Star status for a year by making any single purchase with the app or their registered Starbucks Rewards card. You usually don't unlock Gold status until you get 300 stars (2 stars earned for every $1 spent), so this is a savings of $150.

Gold members get a fancy gold card in the mail, monthly double-star days, and more.

$0 retail: $150

Except for:

"For Gold Level members, every qualifying purchase counts towards free drinks and food*. Today through July 31, all ***Green Level members*** can earn a year of Gold just by making a single purchase with the app or a registered Starbucks Card."

Alas, so unlike the old-fashioned way of earning Gold where you can stack future Gold years, this offer does not appear to work for existing Gold members.

Gotta start as a Green member.

If you use the app, 'not sure they send you that Gold card anymore unless you request it. But the app "Pay" screen changes to gold.

I think you get a freebie on your birthday if you're gold, so yea it's probably worth it.

I think you get a freebie on your birthday if you're gold, so this shortcut to gold is probably worth it. Of course they want to entice you to keep spending money there with the gold benefits - but if you're already spending money there you may as well get in on the benefits.

If you're gold you get a freebie on your birthday, so you can look at this like a BOGO. Sure, Sbux wants to entice you into spending more money there. IMO if you're already spending money there, might as well reap the benefits too.
